When you create an account, post a ride, or sign up for a ride on 906trails.com, we collect the information you provide: your name, username, email address, phone number (if you provide one on the signup form), and the content of your ride postings and ride signups (including notes you write).
We also collect standard technical data that most websites record — your IP address and browser information — primarily for security purposes (spam and abuse prevention).
HOW WE USE IT
- To notify ride organizers when you sign up for their ride, and to notify you about rides you’ve joined
- To notify site administrators when new content is posted for moderation
- To operate and secure the site
- To contact you about your account or a ride you posted or joined
WHERE IT GOES
Your information stays with us. Signup notifications are emailed to rides[at]906trails[dot]com. Data is stored in this website’s database on our hosting server. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with advertisers, data brokers, or anyone else — except the ride organizer of the ride you signed up for, who receives your name, contact info, and notes so they can coordinate with you.
WHAT WE DON’T DO
- No advertising trackers (we run no Google Analytics or third-party ad pixels)
- No selling or profiling of your data
- No newsletters unless you asked for one
RETENTION AND DELETION
Ride signups and notifications are kept while rides are being planned and active, and cleaned up afterward. Account data persists until you close your account. You can request deletion of your data any time by emailing rides[at]906trails[dot]com — we’ll honor it promptly.
CHILDREN
This site isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their data.
CHANGES
If this policy changes materially, the date at the top updates and continued use of the site constitutes acceptance.
