906TRAILS.COM — TERMS OF SERVICE AND RIDER AGREEMENT

Last updated: October 5, 2026

Welcome to 906Trails.com, a community bulletin board for scheduling group off-highway vehicle (OHV) rides — side-by-side (SxS/ORV) and snowmobile — in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and beyond. By posting a ride, signing up for a ride, or participating in any ride listed on this site, you agree to the terms below. Read them — they’re short and they matter.

WHO WE ARE AND WHAT THIS SITE IS

906Trails.com is a ride-sharing calendar, nothing more. We are a clearinghouse where riders organize their own trips with each other. We are not a business, guide service, outfitter, riding school, or event operator. We do not organize, lead, staff, supervise, or insure any ride posted on this site. We don’t verify any rider’s skill, equipment, trail knowledge, or judgment.

YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOURSELF

Every ride listed here is created by an independent rider (“Ride Leader”) acting on their own behalf. Joining a ride listed on this site is agreeing to ride with another private individual — like meeting a stranger from a fishing forum at a boat launch. Use your own judgment about who you ride with, where, and how.

ASSUMPTION OF RISK — READ THIS ONE TWICE

Riding ORVs and snowmobiles is dangerous. You could be injured, disabled, or killed. Risks include, without limitation: collisions, rollovers, terrain hazards, ice, water, trees, wildlife, weather, cold, distance from emergency services, mechanical failure, and the actions of other riders — experienced and inexperienced alike.

By using this site and participating in any ride, you knowingly and freely assume ALL risks of riding, both known and unknown, including the risk that the Ride Leader, other participants, or you yourself make mistakes. If you would not assume these risks for yourself, do not sign up for rides here.

NO REPRESENTATION OR WARRANTY

We make no promise that any ride, rider, route, trail condition, date, time, or staging area posted on this site is accurate, safe, legal, suitable, or even real. Posts are unfiltered opinions and plans of individual riders. Trails close. Weather changes. People cancel. Ride Leaders can misjudge distance, difficulty, and conditions — badly. Nothing on this site is a warranty of anything.

MINORS

This site is intended for adults 18 and older. Riders under 18 may participate only as described in a ride posting and ONLY with a parent or legal guardian present who is solely responsible for them. By bringing a minor, that adult assumes all responsibility for that child. Parents: some rides will be harder, longer, or rougher than any child should be on. That call is yours alone — not ours, not the Ride Leader’s.

EQUIPMENT AND LEGAL COMPLIANCE

You are solely responsible for your own vehicle, gear, licenses, trail permits (Michigan ORV sticker / trail permit, snowmobile trail permit and registration), insurance, and compliance with all Michigan laws, local ordinances, and U.S. Forest Service / DNR rules where you ride. Ride Leaders are not responsible for checking your paperwork or your machine.

CONDUCT

Be decent. Harassment, threats, discrimination, or abuse of other members gets you banned. Post accurate information about your rides. Do not use this site to trespass, run illegal trails, or plan unlawful activity. Illegal rides posted here get deleted.

CONTENT AND POSTINGS

You retain ownership of what you post, but by posting it you grant 906Trails.com permission to display it on this site. We may edit, remove, or decline any posting at our sole discretion. We are not responsible for the content posted by others; a posting appearing on this site is not our endorsement of it.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY — THE BOTTOM LINE

To the maximum extent permitted by law: 906Trails.com, its owner, operators, and volunteers are NOT liable for any injury, death, property damage, or loss arising from your use of this site or participation in any ride, listing, or interaction connected to it. If something goes wrong on a ride, your recourse, if any, is with the parties actually involved — not with this website or its owner. Michigan law governs these terms.

NO EMERGENCY SERVICE

This site is not a rescue service and not monitored around the clock. If someone is hurt, call 911. Our “Help Me!” page lists dispatch numbers for some areas — but never delay calling 911 to search a website.

CHANGES

We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept them. Material changes will be re-dated above.
